Wassa Akropong, Amenfi East Municipal - The Kadire Sports Promotion Inter Community Easter Gala, a highly anticipated event in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Amenfi East, Honorable Nicholas Amankwah (Home Boy), reached its exhilarating conclusion yesterday at the vibrant Wassa Akropong AstroTurf. The tournament, which brought together 24 enthusiastic clubs, culminated in a day of intense semi-final and final clashes, showcasing the talent and passion for football within the constituency.
The journey to the finals saw Blessing Gold Boys edge out Gyedua Gye Nyame FC with a narrow 1-0 victory in the first semi-final. The second semi-final provided a tense battle between Young Boys and China City, ending in a goalless draw that was ultimately decided by penalties, with Young Boys emerging victorious 2-1.
The battle for third place saw China City bounce back to claim victory over Gyedua Gye Nyame with a 2-1 scoreline.
The grand finale lived up to the hype, pitting Blessing Gold Boys against Young Boys in a captivating encounter that also ended in a 0-0 stalemate. The tension was palpable as the ultimate winner was decided by a nerve-wracking penalty shootout, with Blessing Gold Boys clinching the championship title with a 3-2 victory.
The successful conclusion of the gala saw well-deserved recognition bestowed upon the top-performing teams:
* Fourth Place: Gye Nyame received a prize of GHC 2000.
* Third Place: China City was awarded GHC 3000 along with 25 medals 🏅.
* Second Place: Young Boys took home GHC 5000 and 25 medals.
* Ultimate Winner: The champions, Blessing Gold Boys, were celebrated with a grand prize of GHC 10,000, 25 medals, and the coveted trophy 🏆.
